This page is dedicated to our teddy bears. In the past they
have been pressing Yoshi very hard to create a special Bear
page for them on our web site. So what else could we do than
give them what they want?
When they first started bugging us, there were only 4 bears:
Honey, Sugar and Rosie, living in the U.S. with me, and T.Bear,
living in the Netherlands with my Yoshi. Sugar and Rosie's family
expanded soon after and they had a girl and a twin boy and girl.
Honey and T.Bear first met in person on November 4th, 2001 and
it was a match made in heaven! They got along fine and decided
to have a family of their own too.
Only a few days later they had a son: Wilson and then their
daughter was born on November 12th 2001: Frieda. Honey and T.
probably wanted a bigger bear family because the week before
Christmas 2001, Honey had quintuplets!
We had a feeling something was the matter with Honey the day
before, but we had no clue she was going to have 5 babies...
As there are also two lambs living in the same room with Honey,
T.Bear and their kids, they asked politely if it were perhaps
possible to have a picture of them on the Bear Page too. Since
they asked so nicely, and the bears really don't seem to mind,
here they are: the one on the left is Lamb Chop and the one
on the right is Lambsy Divy.
We can't possibly foresee what the future will bring for the
bear families. We do have the feeling though that the parents
need to spend more time with their children. Bear kids need
the same kind of attention as human offspring and we all know
what happens to children when they lack enough love and attention...
Good news! Recently Rosie and Sugar adopted a young bear from
Atlanta. Our good friend Rat (her nickname) called us and told
us about a bear she found at a yard sale. She was without family
and homeless. Could Rosie and Sugar possibly take her in? After
a little bear deliberation the answer was: "yes".
A few days later she arrived in the mail. Don't be alarmed that
she suffered being in a box, it's the way teddybears prefer
to get around in the world. Although it took some adjustments
from both sides, Mary, as she is called now, found a happy and
loving family and she settled in really well.
Visit our Bear page regularly to stay informed! Teddy bears
are interesting creatures and there will be a lot of Bear news
and Bear gossip.
Our intention is to let the bears be responsible for their own
page. So in case they say something that sounds offending to
you in the future, remember it's teddy bears talking!
For
now, we say goodbye with a big bear hug...
