Two views of the DSC-F707

Sony DSC-F707

Up to now I owned 4 digital cameras. I started with a Kodak in 1996. Back then I wasn't very thrilled with the picture quality of affordable digital cameras and I consider this buy a major disappointment.

In the years that followed, picture quality progressed quickly and in 1998 I bought a Sony FD81. Besides the picture quality I liked the floppy disk as a storage medium. Because the FD81 was too limiting for my demands, I replaced it with the FD91 early 1999.
Although the FD91 was a remarkable camera with great zoom possibilities and lots of features, it cannot stand the test with nowadays digital picture standards anymore.

In December 2001, after a lot of "research" and studying specs for hours, I decided that the Sony DSC-F707 was the best choice for me.
Main features worth mentioning are: the outstanding Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar lens, 5 mega pixel pictures, the design and last but not least the possibility to completely use this camera manually. Something I greatly appreciate having a professional photography background. Taking pictures with the FD91 was much fun, it is even greater fun using the Sony DSC-F707!

Most of the pictures on my web site were taken with the FD91.
